We’re looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join one of our consultancies growing team. This is a busy and varied role where you’ll work on a range of projects, including insurance work, primarily residential buildings across various types of construction.

Location: Reigate, with projects in Surrey, Kent, and surrounding areas.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, advise, and provide expertise on design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of buildings
  • Conduct inspections, including acquisition surveys, condition reports, and defect investigations
  • Prepare reports, schedules of work, and specifications
  • Manage large-scale projects independently and oversee works using recognised building contracts
  • Apply relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations, and planning
  • Support APC candidates and promote knowledge within the team

You must have the following requirements/attributes:

  • MRICS Accreditation
  • Extensive experience in consulting engineering, surveying, and architectural practices
  • Proficiency in defect diagnosis and report writing
  • Experience in insurance repair projects (preferred)
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall, and Building Regulation legislation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under deadlines and budgets
