The Role
You’ll support multiple project teams in meeting their CDM and wider health & safety obligations, while also leading on CDM-focused projects. The position blends technical expertise, client-facing work, and team collaboration. You will be involved from early design stages through to project completion, helping to identify hazards, reduce risk, and champion high standards in health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
Key Responsibilities of the CDM Advisor
- Preparing Pre-Construction Information and Construction Phase Plans
- Submitting F10 notifications

- Attending and contributing to Design Team Meetings, advising on risk reduction
- Carrying out CDM site audits and attending progress meetings
- Compiling Health & Safety Files for client handover
- Advising clients, designers, and contractors on best practice in health & safety, both during design and construction, and for future maintenance
- Supporting and promoting HSEQ and ISO standards across projects
About the CDM Advisor
- TechIOSH (minimum) – Chartered (CMIOSH) desirable
- IMaPS or AaPS accreditation
- NEBOSH Construction (or similar) – additional specialisms such as fire or building safety are advantageous
- Strong experience in the residential sector (other sectors also welcomed)
- Proven experience acting as a Principal Designer or CDM Advisor
- Confidence to lead meetings and appropriately challenge duty holders on H&S matters
- The ability to manage their own workload while contributing to a wider team
- Good commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused mindset
What’s on Offer for the CDM Advisor
- Salary between £45,000 and £65,000, depending on experience
- The chance to work on varied and high-quality projects
- Hybrid flexible working
- Access to interesting and exclusive projects across London and the South East
- A collaborative, professional environment where your expertise is valued
- Opportunities to further develop your specialisms, including fire and building safety
