Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading independent construction and property consultancy in Birmingham to appoint an ambitious and commercially minded Project Quantity Surveyor.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to join a growing consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality cost and project management services across a diverse range of sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering projects from inception through to completion while building lasting client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

The Role

As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive cost management services across a varied portfolio of projects. Working closely with clients, consultants and contractors, you will ensure projects are delivered successfully, on budget and to the highest professional standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services
  • Preparing cost plans, estimates, tender documentation and contract administration
  • Managing project budgets and financial reporting
  • Undertaking valuations, variations and final account negotiations
  • Supporting project delivery teams to achieve client objectives
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts and generate new business
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and best practice across the consultancy

About You

We are seeking an individual who combines strong technical expertise with excellent commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.

You will demonstrate:

  • Experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management and Project Management environments
  • Consultancy or client-side experience preferred
  • Strong applied thinking with the ability to turn insight into action
  • A curious mindset and genuine commitment to continuous improvement
  • A client-focused, commercially aware and delivery-driven approach
  • The ability to work independently while thriving in collaborative team environments
  • Confidence in taking ownership and accountability for project outcomes
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound decision-making capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to bring existing client relationships or develop new business opportunities and workload
  • A positive, proactive attitude that brings clarity, energy and professionalism to project teams
