The Role

The AssociateDirectorwillactastheleadProjectManagerforlargestrategicinfrastructureprojects,oftenonbehalfofLocalAuthorityclients,providingdirectionacrossmultipleagencies,stakeholders,andmultidisciplinaryteams.Therolecombinesclientrelationshipmanagementwithhands-onleadershipofcomplexprojectsfromconcepttodelivery,ensuringoutputsaredeliveredinlinewithfunding,governance,andpolicyrequirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadandmanage large,multi-agencyinfrastructureprojects,actingastheclient/leadPMonbehalfofpublicsectorbodies
• Developprojectsfromconcepttoimplementation,includingfeasibility,planning,risk,cost,andprogrammemanagement
• Managemulti-disciplinaryteams,includingexternalconsultantsandinternalcouncildepartments
• Prepareandmonitorconsultantbriefs,fees,andprocurementprocessesforprojectdelivery
• DevelopandwritebusinesscasesusingtheHMTreasury5CaseModel
• Adviseonlandacquisition,planningprocesses,andstrategicpositioningofprojectswithgovernmentfunders
• Chairsteeringgroups,workinggroups,andprojectmeetings;prepareconcisenotesandmaintainissue/actionlogs
• Liaisewithpublicsectorofficers,statutorybodies,landowners,funders,andcommunitystakeholders
• Ensureprojectdeliveryalignswithgovernance,funding,andpolicyrequirements

Experience & Knowledge Required

Essential:

• LeadProjectManagementexperienceonlargepublicsectorinfrastructureprojects
• Experienceactingasclient/leadPMforLocalAuthorityclients
• Strongrelationshipmanagementskillsandprovenabilitytosecurerepeatbusiness
• Experiencemanagingmulti-disciplinaryteamsandcomplexprojectbudgets

• Projectdevelopmentfromconcepttoimplementation
• Strategicplanning,riskmanagement,andprogrammemanagement
• Publicsectorgovernance,procurementlegislation,andfundingstreams
