Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected independent building consultancy that is looking to appoint an Associate Building Surveyor to join its growing team in Stockport.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor who enjoys variety, autonomy and working closely with a loyal portfolio of national occupier clients.
The Opportunity
You’ll be working with a range of well-known occupiers across the retail, trade counter and roadside/automotive sectors, delivering an excellent mix of professional and project surveying work. The workload is diverse, offering exposure to everything from technical due diligence and dilapidations through to refurbishment and fit-out projects.
This is a genuine Associate-level position where you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in client relationships, project delivery and the continued growth of the business.
The Role
Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Delivering a broad range of professional building surveying services.
- Managing refurbishment, maintenance and improvement projects.
- Undertaking technical due diligence, schedules of condition and defect analysis.
- Carrying out dilapidations instructions on behalf of landlords and tenants.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with national occupier clients.
- Supporting junior surveyors and contributing to the continued development of the team.
- Helping identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships.
About You
We’re keen to speak with Building Surveyors who:
- Are MRICS qualified (or possess equivalent experience).
- Have experience delivering both professional and project work.
- Enjoy working directly with clients and managing their own workload.
- Are commercially minded and comfortable operating at Associate level.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
Travel
One thing we’d like to be transparent about from the outset is that this role involves regular travel.
The consultancy services a national client base from its Stockport office, meaning you’ll be visiting sites across the UK on a frequent basis. For many surveyors, this variety and time spent meeting clients on-site is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the role. However, we also appreciate that this style of working isn’t for everyone, so we’d rather be upfront about it from day one. If you enjoy getting out on site, building relationships with clients and working on projects across the country, you’ll find this role incredibly rewarding.
