Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established, multidisciplinary construction consultancy to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor for its growing team in St Austell.
The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for delivering a diverse range of surveying and project work, building strong client relationships, and supporting junior team members. This is a varied position offering genuine autonomy, career progression, and exposure to high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Undertake building surveys, condition surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting across a diverse client base.
- Act as Employer's Agent and Contract Administrator, managing projects from tender through to final account.
- Support the growth and development of the Building Surveying team, ensuring consistently high standards of technical delivery and client service.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice on dilapidations, planned maintenance, party wall matters and wider building consultancy services.
- Mentor and support junior surveyors while working closely with senior leadership to contribute to the continued growth of the business.
About You
You’ll be an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong technical background and excellent client-facing skills. You will enjoy managing projects, developing client relationships, and working within a collaborative consultancy environment. Ideally you will have:
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- MRICS qualification (or working towards chartership).
- Experience delivering both professional Building Surveying services and project work.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration and construction projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
