Chartered / Senior Chartered Building Surveyor – Projects & Dilapidations
Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading national property and building consultancy in the appointment of a Chartered or Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join its growing Manchester team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Building Surveyor with experience across projects and Dilapidations, particularly within the commercial real estate sector.
The business is also open to candidates looking for a more project-focused role, with opportunities available at Senior Chartered Building Surveyor through to Associate level.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of commercial property instructions, with the opportunity to get involved in both professional Building Surveying and project-led work.
Projects are likely to include refurbishments, fit-outs and planned works across sectors such as industrial, office and retail.
Alongside project work, there will be opportunities to undertake Dilapidations and other professional instructions, providing a varied workload and the chance to develop a broad client-facing skill set.
Candidates with an interest in cladding remediation and building safety-related projects would be particularly welcomed, although this is not essential.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver a varied portfolio of Building Surveying instructions across commercial real estate.

Manage and deliver refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception through to completion.

Undertake contract administration, project monitoring and technical due diligence where required.

Prepare specifications, schedules of work, reports and tender documentation.

Manage Dilapidations instructions for both landlord and tenant clients.

Undertake building surveys and provide technical advice to clients.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.

Work closely with colleagues across Building Surveying and the wider property consultancy.

Support business development and contribute to the continued growth of the Manchester team.

Depending on experience, take responsibility for mentoring junior surveyors and supporting the development of the wider team.

Where relevant, contribute to cladding remediation and building safety projects.
About You
We are keen to hear from Chartered and Senior Chartered Building Surveyors with strong commercial real estate experience.
You will ideally have:

MRICS qualification or equivalent.

Strong experience within commercial Building Surveying.

Experience delivering refurbishment and fit-out projects.

A background working across sectors such as industrial, office and retail.

Experience with Dilapidations would be advantageous.

Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness.

Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

The ability to manage instructions and projects independently.

A proactive approach to business development and building client relationships.
Experience or an interest in cladding remediation, building safety and associated technical projects would be a particular advantage.
Project-Focused Opportunity
For candidates who are looking for a pure project bias, the business is also open to considering experienced Project Building Surveyors at Senior Chartered Building Surveyor or Associate level.
