The predicted salary is between 30000 - 36600 £ per year.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 8.00am – 5.00pm with an hour of breaks, however, specific hours negotiable. Main contracted days Monday – Friday.
Holidays: 25 Annual Holidays + 3 x Bank Holidays (New Year's Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day).
Salary: £33,320 per annum.
Description: The Quality Assurance Technician will work direct to the Quality Assurance / Health & Safety Manager focusing on quality assurance & food safety matters across the Company. This includes areas such as our Butchery and Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Department. Furthermore, there will be a requirement to assist in covering Health & Safety duties as necessary and must be willing to undertake training to further their knowledge in food safety and potentially Health & Safety (IOSH).
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, maintain and improve company procedures.
- Ensure specifications are up to date and maintained efficiently.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with external accreditation bodies to ensure the business meets the required standards.
- Follow regulations to ensure compliance with current food safety law and guidelines, such as those established by regulatory bodies.
- Ensure customer complaints are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Work with operations staff to establish procedures, standards and systems.
- Maintain records of all test results, inspection findings and corrective actions taken.
- Calibrate and operate equipment to ensure accurate results and reliable testing.
- Conduct routine tests on raw materials, in process items and finished products to ensure they meet safety, quality and regulatory standards.
- Encourage change and improvement in performance and quality.
- Complete internal audits.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong understanding of HACCP, ensuring compliance with HACCP principles to identify and control potential hazards in the production process.
- Strong understanding of TACCP and VACCP principles.
- In-depth knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standard (latest version) and Food Safety legislation.
- Microbiological knowledge.
- Ability to analyse data and create and review processes.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally on all levels.
- Ability to work independently using own initiative as well as work effectively as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a cold environment as required.
