Turner Lovell is recruiting a SHEQ Manager on behalf of a fast-growing utilities contractor delivering high-voltage substation projects across London.
This is a contract role suited to an experienced professional who can lead site-based Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality operations, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support delivery teams in maintaining a strong safety culture across critical infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage SHEQ performance across multiple active project sites.

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and ISO standards (45001, 14001, 9001).

Develop and implement site-specific SHEQ plans and toolbox talks.

Work closely with project teams to promote safe working practices and continuous improvement.

Act as a key contact for SHEQ matters with clients including National Grid, UKPN, and SSEN.

Lead investigations, support root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a SHEQ Manager or Senior HSE Advisor on substation or HV infrastructure projects .

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential).

Solid knowledge of CDM Regulations and utilities sector SHEQ standards.

Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence site teams and stakeholders.

Experience working with DNOs or National Grid projects is highly desirable.
