Turner Lovell are recruiting for a fast growing international EPC contractor who have a strong pipeline of HVDC, HV-AC and offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe. We are supporting them to shortlist a Senior Site Manager with proven experience working from pre-construction to completion on complex, large scale electricity transmission projects.
The successful candidate will be the Senior Site Manager for complex energy transmission schemes (+£100m) and join an ambitious team focused on delivering excellence. In this initial role, you will lead the projects from M&E assembly / installation and then through to commissioning and client handover.

Duties:
- Lead the pre-construction planning, site set up and ongoing construction and M&E activities for project scopes +£100m
- Oversee the management of all on site activities, providing HSE leadership to other site managers, site supervisors, subcontractors .
- Be the point of contact for civil construction, M&E, client interface and general site management tasks.
- Act as the main point of contact for all construction related topics for senior customer and internal stakeholders. Attending meetings with the customer when required.
- Provide planning, risk/opportunities assessments and regular updates for all construction and commissioning activities.
- Provide support to Project Director and Project Managers to monitor, track, and report progress of the team against project programme and budget.
- Promote, review and approve HSE plans ensuring customer and subcontractor HSE plans align with site goals.
- Manage the staffing plan and ensure all teams are operating with goals and objectives.
- Ensure project quality, financial budgets and timescales are met – providing progress reports when necessary.
The Person:
- Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related course.
- At least 10 years’ experience as a Site Manager within large complex construction projects +£100m.
- Experience working on transmission projects connecting to National Grid, SSE, Scottish Power or offshore wind facilities.
- Good understanding regarding the construction principles connected with Civil Works, , HV equipment, LV equipment and building services
- Excellent communication skills to be client facing and lead larger teams of site workers, engineers, and safety professionals in pressured environments.
- Expert understanding of CDM regulations and legislation related to Health, safety and environmental topics.
- Experience working on the pre-construction, site set up, civil, M&E installation and commissioning phase of projects.
- Relevant site safety courses such as: CCNSG Safety Passport, SMSTS Course, IOSH Managing Safely & Environmental courses.
- Willingness to work across the UK and ambitious to work on international projects in the future.
