Job Description

Senior Design Engineer – Cables \\nLocation: Suffolk or London (hybrid with site visits, remote working possible) \\nSalary: £50,000 – £75,000 (+ benefits) \\nPosition: Permanent\\n\\nTurner Lovell are recruiting for a leading UK engineering services provider that delivers innovative design and technical solutions to the power sector. With a strong pipeline of major infrastructure projects across the UK, they are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer – Cabling to join their expanding team.\\n\\nIn this role, you will take the lead on the design, drawings, and calculations for cabling projects across ICPs, data centres, and renewable energy developments up to 132kV. You'll collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary design team, carry out site surveys, and provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept to detailed design.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nLead complex cabling projects, ensuring high-quality designs are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets.\\nDevelop and review engineering drawings, calculations, and design documentation using industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, CYMCAP)\\nPlan and design cable routes, resolving advanced engineering challenges and technical constraints.\\nReview and approve earthing studies, reports, and design outputs, providing constructive technical feedback.\\nSupport site teams by offering engineering input and solutions to technical queries\\nLead or participate in design reviews and project meetings with internal stakeholders and clients.\\nIdeal Background & Skills\\n\\nHNC/HND in Electrical Engineering essential; a degree or equivalent higher qualification preferred.\\nDemonstrated experience in delivering end-to-end cabling design projects.\\nCompetent in cable routing and design, with practical knowledge of relevant software tools.\\nComfortable working independently on technically challenging projects with minimal supervision.\\nStrong commercial understanding and ability to maintain effective client relationships.\\nThis is a standout opportunity to join a growing business and play a pivotal role in the delivery of major UK power projects.\\n\\nIf you're interested in exploring this role further, please apply.
