Turner Lovell are recruiting a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) - HV Substation Projects to join our client - a leading energy infrastructure Contractor in the UK.
You would be joining a well-established engineering group that delivers major infrastructure projects across the utilities, energy, power, and digital sectors. The Opportunity
This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) who is confident operating, maintaining, and overseeing high-voltage (HV) electrical systems. You will play a key part in managing LV, MV and HV switching operations, ensuring safe system control, and supporting multiple live projects with technical expertise. You will also act as a safety ambassador, ensuring that all HV work complies with the highest standards, regulations, and internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and authorise LV, MV and HV switching operations across substations, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment.
- Ensure full compliance with electrical safety rules, statutory regulations, and industry best practice.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and safe execution of HV operations across several projects.
- Provide technical guidance on HV faults, protection systems, and corrective actions.
- Support operational teams by making informed decisions in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
What You'll Bring
- Qualified Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with proven experience across (11 - 132kV).
- Strong working knowledge of LV, MV and HV systems, protection devices, and safe-system-of-work procedures.
- Demonstrable experience delivering LV, MV and HV switching operations in live environments.
- Relevant technical education in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Additional HV accreditations (e.g., HVAP, HV Switching, Electrical Safety Rules) are essential.
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and prioritise safely.
