Turner Lovell are recruiting for a site-based Civil Resident/Section Engineer to support the delivery of the main civil works packages on a major UK energy infrastructure project. Our client is an international engineering and construction contractor with a strong pipeline of large-scale projects across the UK.
You will play a key role in managing and driving site activities and supporting the delivery of civil works, including drainage, access roads, and associated infrastructure. This is a hands-on, site-focused role requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to work independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
This position will suit an experienced civil professional with a strong background on large infrastructure projects, confident in developing, implementing, and monitoring Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and wider QA/QC procedures.
Responsibilities- Ensure all subcontractor activities comply with specifications, drawings, and approved RAMS
- Monitor project progress and quality through regular site inspections and verification activities
- Coordinate and manage interfaces between civil work packages in line with design and programme
- Liaise with the design team to provide technical input and resolve contractor technical queries (TQs)
- Support the Project Manager with day-to-day site management and reporting
- Promote and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance on site
- Minimum 5 years' experience working on UK civil engineering projects
- HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering
- Proven experience delivering civil packages valued at £5m+ (ideally within energy, utilities, or power generation sectors)
- Strong track record in quality assurance and civil construction best practice
- Valid CSCS or CCNSG, with SSSTS or SMSTS desirable
- Temporary Works Coordinator experience advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project teams
