Project Manager (Overhead Power Lines)

  • Location: Remote (Occasional site visits across UK)
  • Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)

  • Working pattern – Monday to Friday (No weekends)

Turner Lovell is working with a leading service provider in critical civil engineering projects for the Power utility sectors across the UK. We’re looking for a Project Manager who can confidently lead teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the smooth delivery of HV civil and electrical utility works from start to finish.

You’ll take the lead on project planning, site coordination and commercial delivery while maintaining the highest Health & Safety and environmental standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team working on some of the most critical energy projects in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate early-stage planning, survey reviews, and tender inputs
  • Plan, manage, and track project schedules, budgets, and labour resources
  • Lead day-to-day project delivery, working with both office and site teams
  • Maintain strong client relationships with regular updates and problem-solving input
  • Ensure all project documentation, meeting actions, and reports are completed on time
  • Oversee the operational and logistical management of site activity
  • Promote a high standard of Health & Safety compliance on all sites, ensuring RAMS, audits, and toolbox talks are completed and up to date
  • Lead internal teams (engineers, foremen, subcontractors), giving clear daily direction
  • Work closely with the SHEQ team to ensure all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality are properly managed
  • Mentor junior staff and support their development into independent leaders
  • Collaborate with the commercial department to ensure all financial data is accurate and timely

Ideal Profile:

  • Proven experience leading utility or infrastructure projects (electrical or civils)
  • Strong background managing teams and subcontractors
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Able to lead from the front, maintain HSEQ standards, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable balancing site and office work, with strong attention to detail and leadership under pressure
  • Experience in T&D or utility-scale civil projects a major advantage
