Turner Lovell are currently recruiting for an international engineering & construction organisation who have a strong pipeline in major renewable energy and M&E projects across the UK. Our client is looking for experienced Site Supervisors to work on UK electricity transmission projects. The substation works consist of 132kV, 275kV and 400kV projects, so prior HV substation experience in the UK is essential.
The Site Supervisor will focus on the M&E construction, installation & commissioning phases. They will manage/supervise the installation and assembling of HV equipment, high voltage cables, switchgear - transformers, circuit breakers and all associated AIS or GIS components. Preference will be given to candidates that have strong electrical AND mechanical experience, with experience working on HV substations.
Duties:
- To act as the M&E Site Supervisor for new & extension energy facility projects in the UK.
- Day-to-day supervision of site personnel, subcontractors, and general workers on site.
- Ensure site management procedures and policies are being always followed by site personnel.
- Have a working knowledge of construction health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Liaison with the client HSE advisors and support teams.
- Liaison with individuals from the site management, engineering, and commissioning teams.
- Monitoring and logging of the Contractor's progress and performance on site supporting the Senior Site Manager / Project Manager.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate recent experience of supervising on major and complex HV sites (50m+).
- Have comprehensive knowledge of UK substation electrical equipment.
- Electrical / Mechanical Engineering degree or further education qualification.
- Be a recognised supervisor holding SMSTS/SSSTS, CCNSG Safety Passport, NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar.
- Clear communication strategy, ability to motivate teams and work to tight deadlines.
