Turner Lovell are recruiting a Senior QS to join an £1 billion + turnover EPC Contractor in the electricity and renewable energy sector. Following the award of multi-year framework agreements, the company is expanding its team to deliver turnkey HV substation projects across the UK, ranging from £20 million to £150 million.

This is a hybrid role, and we are looking for a candidate who can access the Cardiff project site at least 3 times a week. This is a strong opportunity for a proactive, detail‑focused professional to play a key commercial role. You’ll support the financial performance of multiple projects, working closely with project teams and clients to manage risk and maximise value.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial management of several projects from start to final account
  • Administer NEC4 ECC contracts, including Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and payments
  • Maintain effective cost control, produce accurate CVRs, and report financial performance to senior management
  • Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities, variations, and compensation events
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement and commercial administration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Support the development of junior commercial staff

Requirements:

  • A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • Proven experience managing large subcontractor work packages and liaising directly with the Client
  • Solid knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, especially Options A, B and E.
  • Experience or understanding of the Electricity Transmission sector (OHL / Substations) is advantageous, though strong major infrastructure experience on multi‑million‑pound projects will also be considered
  • Strong communication and negotiation capabilities
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid full UK driving licence
