Turner Lovell are recruiting for a European HSEQ Manager to join an international construction contractor in the UK. The European HSEQ Manager will lead and unify Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) practices across our European operations. This senior leadership role ensures safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery of major onshore and offshore cable projects across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a Europe-wide QHSE strategy aligned with global standards.
  • Lead and mentor country-level QHSE managers, ensuring consistent practices.
  • Embed QHSE principles throughout project lifecycles, from tender to handover.
  • Manage risk, compliance, and incident reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Define training and competency frameworks and promote a proactive safety and quality culture.
  • Act as the primary QHSE representative with clients, regulators, and auditors.

Requirements:

  • Evident experience from QHSE leadership roles within energy, offshore wind, grid infrastructure, HV cable installation, or major EPC projects.
  • Experience managing QHSE across multiple European countries.
  • Strong knowledge of European regulatory frameworks and client standards.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work with major TSOs.
  • Expertise in incident investigation, audits, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and cross-cultural leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English; other European languages are a plus.
  • Experience with European TSOs (e.g., TenneT, National Grid, RWE, SSE, 50Hertz, EirGrid).
  • Background in HV cable systems, offshore installation, or marine operations.
  • Relevant HSE/QHSE certifications and ISO auditor qualifications.
