A unique role on the market that will shape the Health & Safety function of this international business’s UK entity, delivering key HV infrastructure projects with safety at the forefront. Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional with experience on High Voltage Overhead Line or Substation projects? Have you ambitions to play a key role in a multi-national business?
Turner Lovell is partnering with a large international engineering, construction and infrastructure business to source a Health & Safety Manager to join their team in Glasgow. This is a unique opportunity to work with the international Health & Safety team as they set up their UK operations, tailoring policies and amending templates for compliance against DNO / TSO standards.
You will implement site focused Health & Safety processes and practices, documentation and culture on major Power & Energy projects. This role will be accountable across several key areas:
- Carrying out regular site visits, conducting internal site audits and observing working practices on site offering coaching where needed and recommendations for refresher training requirements.
- Ensuring all site SHEQ KPI’s are reported monthly and identify any issues or trends requiring improvement and recognition.
- Ensuring all SHEQ policies and procedures are implemented, understood and adhered to on all site locations, so far as is reasonably practicable, in order to ensure a safe working environment.
- Overseeing the implementation of the Company’s Integrated Management system and acting as the Company representative for audits carried out by external bodies for certifications.
- Providing a SHEQ support service to the business, supporting senior management through tender and pre-qualification processes as required.
- Providing guidance and information to management and employees on SHEQ legislation/matters, ensuring all site files are set up prior to project commencement, maintained by site throughout the project life cycle and updated as and when required.
- Ensuring RAMS are up to date at the commencement of each project and amended throughout the life cycle of the project in line with any changes to site systems of working.
- Providing Directors with management information and advice on the development of SHEQ policies and procedures.
