Scope of Work: A key role in a growing team that will lead technical support on projects, from initial enquiry and tendering right through to construction, commissioning and energisation. Are you an ambitious Project Engineer with an interest in developing your career in the power and energy sector? Would you like to join the leader at the forefront of energy project delivery in Scotland? Turner Lovell is recruiting a Project Engineer to join a leading international multi-disciplinary engineering contractor, providing high-value engineering services to clients in Scotland.
You will work with various sections across the entire business, with a particular emphasis on the HV electrical elements of M&E projects. This role will be part of the transmission and distribution (T&D) engineering team affording them the opportunity to expand their knowledge and experience on electrical installations up to 400kV.
Your key responsibilities in the role will include:
- Preparation of design drawings covering all aspects of High & Low voltage equipment, including alterations; liaising and co-ordinating with members of the design team, contractors and in-house project team on technical and commercial issues.
- Processing requisitions, generation of purchase orders and confirm delivery to site; seeking to clarify queries with the design team through the request for information (RFI) system; attending technical meetings with members of the design team, contractors, and in-house project team.
- Carrying out document control, recording & transmitting information; preparing method statements and risk assessments for production activities; organising and assessing the work of sub-contractors.
- Carrying out Quality Control through inspections and snagging; preparation of test packs for recording the completion of systems, project schedules, material take offs and out to tender schedules.
- Assisting with the procurement of materials, equipment and services; with the preparation of technical documentation for issue of tenders and construction; preparing tender, construction and as-built design drawings, and project programs.
The ideal profile is someone who is:
- 3rd level Qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years engineering design/project management experience on industrial installation projects
- Professional and commercial acumen and be capable of representing your team at a senior level in meetings
- A proven track record of delivering projects on time and to budget
- Experience of managing multiple projects at the one time
