Turner Lovell are recruiting for experienced Commissioning Engineers to join a leading EPC Contractor. This role sits within a Distribution & Connections team supporting electrical infrastructure projects. You’ll work on substation builds across 11kV, 33kV and 132kV networks, helping ensure safe and reliable integration of new equipment into the live system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out testing and commissioning of high‑voltage plant and associated protection systems.
  • Produce commissioning plans and ensure all activities meet current standards and legislation.
  • Attend client meetings, offer technical input, and help resolve design or installation issues on site.
  • Review and update technical drawings and documentation.
  • Promote safe working practices and support colleagues through guidance and mentorship.

Requirements:

  • Qualification at HNC/Degree level in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in HV testing and commissioning within distribution networks.
  • Strong understanding of engineering procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Confident decision‑making skills with the ability to improve processes.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, working with clients, designers and site teams.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites.
