Turner Lovell is recruiting an experienced Contract Commercial Manager to join a leading EPC Contractor with a turnover exceeding £1 billion in the electricity and renewable energy sector. Following the award of multi-year framework agreements, the company is expanding its team to deliver turnkey HV substation projects across the UK, ranging from £20 million to £150 million.
Role Summary
You'll take a key commercial leadership role across a portfolio of high-voltage and energy infrastructure projects. This includes overseeing commercial planning, managing risk, strengthening financial performance, and supporting the successful delivery of substation and transmission works.
Main Responsibilities
- Set the commercial approach for regional projects and tenders, ensuring consistency, control, and strong financial outcomes.
- Guide and develop the commercial team, helping them grow their technical and commercial capability.
- Work closely with Project and Finance teams to produce accurate forecasts, monitor cashflow, and report performance.
- Review tender documents, highlight risks and opportunities, and present clear commercial recommendations.
- Manage procurement activities and ensure all contracts meet required standards and governance.
- Build effective relationships with clients and suppliers, helping resolve issues and supporting future work opportunities.
- Promote high standards of safety, quality, and performance across all commercial activity.
Requirements
- Experienced commercial professional with a background in infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects.
- Confident working with major contract forms such as NEC3/4, JCT, and FIDIC.
- Degree-qualified, with strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Skilled in contract review, commercial reporting, and project control processes.
- Proven ability to lead, support and develop a commercial team.
- Hold a UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling to sites within the region.
