Role: Senior Site Manager
Location: Northeast of England

Turner Lovell are recruiting for a fast-growing international EPC contractor with a strong pipeline of HVDC, HV-AC, and offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager with a strong civil or M&E background to actively support the project management of multi-disciplined, multi-sector project delivery. The Senior Site Manager will participate in project teams from the initial stages through to completion, ensuring the consistent application of the contracting strategy. They will define and issue sub-contracts with support from EHS, Quality, Planning, Contract Management, and Sourcing, and act as the main point of contact for all commercial aspects of site sub-contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage C&C activities to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Lead and manage site teams to meet performance standards and project objectives.
- Ensure EHS policies and procedures are applied in all site activities.
- Identify and evaluate EHS risks and implement practical measures.
- Promote hazard identification and near-miss reporting.
- Demonstrate EHS leadership and ensure the STOP WORK POLICY is implemented.
- Communicate EHS policies to all project site staff.
- Reward and encourage proactive EHS steps.
- Participate in EHS Gemba walks and lead EHS improvement initiatives.
- Observe work conditions and behaviors, provide feedback, and celebrate achievements.
- Comply with Quality Procedures and resolve non-conformances timely.
- Ensure site works meet customer satisfaction and GE Grid standards.
- Collect key information for Lessons Learned and future project improvements.
- Participate in improvement actions on construction processes, tools, and documents.
- Provide timely status and metrics of site activities:
- Weekly safety metrics and observations.
- Weekly production management indicators and monthly variance to milestones.
- Monthly reports on sub-contract status and spend vs. budget.
- Main contact for construction-related topics in partner/consortium projects.
- Integrate customer EHS requirements into project-specific EHS procedures.
- Manage risks and opportunities related to C&C activities.
- Prepare staffing plans, mobilize site teams, and monitor actuals vs. plans.
- Set goals and objectives for site managers.
- Liaise with the design office for timely issuance of data required for site works.
- Implement CMS and define TOPs with the Project Commissioning Manager.
- Support project leadership during important customer meetings
Requirements:
- Background in Building Services, electrical works, and commissioning.
- Qualification in Civil/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Health and safety experience, training, and qualifications in line with international standards (GWO certification is a plus).
- Knowledgeable on international construction standards and best practices.
- Experience in offshore platforms E&I works is a plus.
- Ability to work remotely and integrate with the wider team.
- Previous experience as a Construction Manager on large EHV Substation Projects (UK experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and good industry practices.
- Familiarity with civil and electrical works construction standards.
- Willingness to travel frequently to various project sites and offshore wind farm projects.
- Effective communication skills in English (additional European languages are a plus).
- IT proficiency, including collaborative platforms and tools.
- Experience in the installation and commissioning of civil works, building services, HV & MV equipment, control & protection systems, and commissioning.
