Turner Lovell are seeking a Resident Engineer to support the delivery of major UK infrastructure projects. Our client is a leading engineering contractor delivering high-voltage substations for major renewable energy projects.
Working alongside the Civil Site Manager, you\’ll ensure civil works are set out to specification, delivered safely, and meet programme deadlines. This is a hands-on role covering planning, design coordination, quality assurance, and as-built documentation through to project handover.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake precise setting out for reinforced concrete foundations, drainage networks, service ducting, earthworks, access roads, and security/perimeter fencing.
- Collaborate with site and project management teams to ensure the achievement of programme milestones and deliverables.
- Provide oversight and technical input for Temporary Works (BS5975).
- Address and resolve on-site design issues, managing Technical Queries (TQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and scope change processes.
- Develop and maintain Inspection Test Plans, Health & Safety documentation, and comprehensive as-built records for project handover.
Requirements:
- A minimum of three years\’ proven experience in civil setting out on UK construction projects.
- HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Experience within HV substations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar, or other electrical infrastructure projects is desirable.
- Possession of a valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office applications.
