A leading UK utility infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager to support the successful delivery of high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects across the UK (11kV-132kV, with occasional higher voltage exposure). This is a key leadership role focused on managing the critical transition between design, procurement, and construction on complex, high-value projects. You will be managing a team of experienced Project Managers, providing technical oversight and performance leadership.

This opportunity offers the chance to work on major infrastructure programmes, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, and contribute to the development of delivery capability within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the transition from project award through design development to construction readiness.
  • Lead a team of Project Managers, ensuring effective delivery and performance standards.
  • Coordinate the entire electrical design process, working closely with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a key interface between network operators, third-party providers, and client engineering teams.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks associated with design, programme, and delivery.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact across project teams, maintaining clear communication and alignment throughout delivery.
  • Lead engagement with suppliers and manage long-lead equipment risks to ensure timely procurement and programme delivery.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience delivering HV electrical infrastructure projects (11kV-132kV) for data centre, grid connection or large-scale power projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness within complex project delivery settings.
  • Good understanding of design approval processes with network operators and relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience managing projects of significant value and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring project delivery teams.
  • Ability to engage and manage a wide range of stakeholders across technical and commercial functions.
