Our client is a well-established M&E contractor, operating across Europe on various HV energy infrastructure projects, on both the design and construction phases.
We are looking for a Project Planner with a strong background in HV Transmission & Distribution, to play an active role in project management support of multi-disciplined, multi-sector project delivery work by facilitating the planning, scheduling and controlling processes. This role would be a great fit for someone with a solid understanding of sequencing, risks, and logistics for electrical infrastructure builds (110kV - 400kV). You’ll collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and risk-aware.
Key Responsibilities- Planning & Scheduling
- Review contract documentation and identify schedule and reporting requirements.
- Develop construction schedules based on target timelines and WBS from the Project Manager.
- Create integrated schedules with Main Contractor and project teams; ensure labour and metrics loading aligns with budgets.
- Prepare trackers, reporting templates, and S-curves; maintain schedule updates and revisions.
- Project Control & Reporting
- Monitor progress and efficiency weekly; validate with Commercial team every 2–3 weeks.
- Produce look-ahead plans, drop-line schedules, and progress reports (internal/external).
- Highlight risks and roadblocks; escalate issues to Lead Planner and Planning Manager.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Support client schedule negotiations and planning meetings.
- Present schedules to site teams; ensure clear understanding of build methodology and phasing.
- Assist in risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Business Unit Support
- Act as primary planning contact for Project Manager.
- Provide bid support by developing schedules and histograms.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance internal processes and service delivery.
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a strong technical/trades background.
- 3-5 years’ experience / demonstrate ability to develop and implement plans, monitor, and control work.
- Evident previous experience in Project Planning across HV substation, electricity transmission and distribution or renewable projects.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, monitor, and control project plans, as well as produce project plans from design and commercial information.
- Microsoft Project / P6 or Equivalent Planning Software, Microsoft Office tools - Excellent report writing skills.
- Time management essential to satisfy demands of busy schedule and reporting calendar.
