Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Hybrid working, mostly remote with weekly visits across South Wales offices.

Contract: 6 months contract - Freelance (Outside of IR35)

Turner Lovell is recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a leading EPC Contractor with a turnover exceeding £1 billion in the electricity and renewable energy sector. Following the award of multi-year framework agreements, the company is expanding its team to deliver turnkey HV substation projects across the UK, ranging from £20 million to £150 million. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major infrastructure project at Pembroke. This is a freelance opportunity focused on managing and negotiating a significant compensation event arising from design changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and pricing of a large compensation event under NEC4 (Option C)
  • Assess and quantify design changes from the previous baseline to the current design status
  • Undertake detailed take-offs and measurement of works
  • Engage with the supply chain to obtain accurate pricing and input
  • Prepare robust commercial submissions in line with contract requirements
  • Lead negotiations with the client to agree the final compensation event value
  • Provide strategic commercial input during the transition into the construction phase
