A leading engineering contractor delivering major electricity transmission and renewable energy infrastructure projects is looking to appoint a Lead HV Primary Plant Design Engineer to support the continued growth of its UK engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys remaining technically hands-on while leading projects, mentoring engineers, and influencing how a growing engineering function develops.
Working across a diverse portfolio of transmission and substation projects, you'll take ownership of primary plant design from concept through detailed design and construction support, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, practical, and technically robust engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of HV primary plant design for transmission and distribution substations.
- Take technical ownership of multiple design packages from concept through detailed design and construction support.
- Produce and review substation general arrangements, equipment layouts, elevations and associated primary design deliverables.
- Specify and coordinate primary plant equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers and associated interfaces.
- Coordinate closely with civil, protection.
