Turner Lovell are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and technology organisation delivering critical electrical infrastructure solutions across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Services Manager to lead a nationwide engineering team supporting medium voltage electrical infrastructure. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance, repair and technical support activities, while leading multidisciplinary teams, driving operational performance and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.
Working closely with engineering, commercial and project teams, you'll oversee resource planning, team development and continuous improvement across a nationwide operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead nationwide maintenance, technical support and repair activities across customer sites and specialist service facilities.
- Manage engineering resources including engineers, technicians, supervisors, specialist equipment and materials.
- Ensure the safe delivery of inspection, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, upgrade and commissioning activities.
- Promote a strong health, safety and quality culture across all engineering operations.
- Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor operational performance, resource planning and engineering utilisation.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, commercial and project teams to support business objectives.
- Develop engineering capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
- Support workforce planning to ensure future engineering capability and capacity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working within a substation or electrical distribution environment, with a strong understanding of electrical safety, operational procedures and safe systems of work.
- Demonstrable experience with medium voltage (MV) switchgear, regardless of manufacturer.
- Proven experience leading engineering, service or maintenance operations within the electrical infrastructure, power distribution or industrial engineering sectors.
- Experience managing engineering teams operating within a safety-critical environment.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience delivering operational performance, resource planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
