Rate: £600 - £700 per day, outside IR35 (with expenses to site)

Start Date: ASAP / August 2025: 12-month contract

Turner Lovell are recruiting on behalf of a global leader in the energy transition sector who are delivering some of the UK's most significant electricity transmission and renewable energy infrastructure projects. As investment into offshore wind, HVDC interconnectors and transmission infrastructure continues to accelerate, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a large-scale EPC renewable energy project. This opportunity would suit an experienced project leader with a strong background delivering complex 275kV-400kV transmission, substation, HVDC, offshore wind, or grid connection projects, who is looking to play a key role in supporting the transition towards a net-zero energy future.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of major infrastructure projects from design through construction and commissioning, ensuring safe, commercially successful and high-quality project delivery whilst managing key client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of major HV transmission, offshore grid connection and renewable energy infrastructure projects
  • Take full responsibility for project execution across safety, programme, cost, quality and commercial performance
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams throughout engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and key project stakeholders
  • Establish effective project controls, governance and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage project risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies to maximise project performance
  • Drive Health, Safety and Environmental excellence across all project activities
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular internal and external reporting
  • Ensure contractual compliance whilst identifying opportunities for change management and commercial improvement
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and development to project delivery teams
  • Ensure successful project close-out, documentation and customer satisfaction

Role Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale HV transmission, substation, offshore wind or HVDC infrastructure projects
  • Excellent understanding of HV substation construction, primary plant, secondary systems and associated civil works
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience administering major engineering or construction contracts
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of project controls, programme management, risk management and governance
  • Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional Project Management qualification (APM, PMP or equivalent) desirable
