Job Description

CDM Principal DesignerLocation: Inverness / Scottish Highlands & IslandsContract: 24 monthsRate: £650 - £750 per day via Umbrella PAYETurner Lovell is recruiting an experienced CDM Principal Designer to support the major transmission program in Scotland. The role will cover complex projects involving HVDC, overhead line and AC transmission infrastructure. You will also act as the key interface between the multiple Principal Designers working across these projects and others.

Key responsibilities:

Lead Principal Designer activities across three major transmission projects.

Ensure designers meet their duties under CDM regulations.

Coordinate Principal Designers, Principal Contractors and project stakeholders.

Chair CDM / design risk meetings and HAZARD workshops.

Support Pre-Construction Information, Temporary Works and Construction Phase Plan reviews.

Manage residual design risks, Management of Change and Health & Safety Files.

Work with site teams to ensure construction follows the accepted design.

We are looking for: Strong experience as a CDM Principal Designer on major infrastructure or engineering projects.

Excellent knowledge of CDM and design risk management.

Experience coordinating multiple designers and complex project interfaces.

Energy, transmission, substation or HVDC experience would be highly advantageous.

The role is based around Inverness, with regular travel to Arnish on the Isle of Lewis and the Beauly area, increasing as construction progresses.
