Turner Lovell is currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to support the delivery of National Grid substation project in the Northwest. This is an excellent opportunity to join a High Voltage project management specialist with a strong pipeline of UK transmission and renewable energy projects.
The successful candidate will work on National Grid projects involving GIS substations across 132kV-400kV voltage levels. Previous experience supervising electrical installation activities on UK National Grid projects is essential.
The Electrical Site Supervisor will oversee day-to-day site activities during the construction, installation, and commissioning phases, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
Duties:- Supervise electrical installation works on National Grid substation projects
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, electrical teams, and site personnel
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures and National Grid standards
- Oversee installation of GIS equipment, switchgear, HV cables, protection & control systems, and associated substation equipment
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and Commissioning teams
- Monitor site progress, quality, and productivity against programme milestones
- Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and daily site records are maintained
- Support delivery of construction and commissioning activities to programme deadlines
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Site Supervisor on National Grid substation projects
- Strong GIS substation experience across 132kV-400kV projects
- Valid NG Person certification
- SSSTS certification
- Valid First Aid qualification
- Strong understanding of National Grid site procedures and safety standards
- Ability to coordinate teams and communicate effectively across site operations
- Experience working within live HV substation environments in the UK
