Turner Lovell is recruiting experienced Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) with SSE CAT 3 or CAT 4 competencies to support the delivery of critical LV and 11kV distribution projects across the United Kingdom (first projects SW England).
This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering and delivery team working across capital delivery, fault response, maintenance, and operational switching activities on the DNO network. We are seeking operationally strong SAPs who are confident leading from the front, mentoring teams, and delivering works safely and efficiently within live network environments.
As a Delivery Engineer / Senior Authorised Person, you will take responsibility for LV and HV network delivery activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest operational standards. You will play a key role in planned works, fault response, switching operations, contractor management, and the development of junior engineers and field staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out LV and 11kV switching activities across the distribution network
- Deliver LV/HV capital works and maintenance projects safely and efficiently
- Lead site teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and network standards
- Support fault response and restoration activities across the network
- Mentor and support the progression of operational staff toward SAP and Field Control authorisations
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with DNO procedures, health and safety legislation, and operational standards
- Provide technical guidance across overhead and underground network activities up to 11kV
- Promote a strong safety culture and challenge unsafe behaviours where necessary
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting
Essential Requirements
- SSE CAT 3 or CAT 4 authorisations
- Minimum 11kV SAP authorisation
- LV authorisation including LV Fault Management
- Experience working on live LV/HV distribution networks
- Strong background in fault management, switching, and network operations
- Experience across overhead line and underground cable systems up to 11kV
- Full UK driving licence
