We are looking for an experienced and proactive Accounts Semi‑Senior to join our growing team in Otley. About the RoleYou will support a wide range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, working closely with senior accountants and managers to deliver a high‑quality service.
Key Responsibilities- Bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Assisting with personal and corporation tax compliance
- Liaising directly with clients and resolving queries
- Supporting digitalisation and cloud accounting adoption
- Helping champion the rollout and use of Xero within the Otley office
- Supporting junior team members where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulations
We are seeking someone with previous accountancy practice experience who is comfortable managing work across multiple clients.
Essential Requirements- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- AAT qualified (or actively studying)
- Experience preparing accounts and VAT returns
- Knowledge of personal and corporation tax
- Strong organisational and client communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident using cloud accounting software, particularly Xero
- A proactive approach to digitalisation and process improvement
Experience working with agricultural or farming clients. This role would not suit candidates whose experience is solely within industry finance environments.
