We're recruiting on behalf of an ambitious and growing UK business looking to appoint an experienced Group Financial Controller to join its senior finance leadership team. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you'll take ownership of financial control, reporting, compliance, and the development of the finance function, while partnering with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and continued business growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance team, promoting high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and Group reporting.
  • Manage the year-end process, statutory accounts, and external audit.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, balance sheet reconciliations, and working capital.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Deliver commercial analysis and financial insight to support business performance.
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve profitability and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, reporting, and internal processes.
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, and finance transformation projects where required.

About You

We're looking for an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent commercial awareness. You'll ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, or Senior Finance Manager.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience within a multi-entity or growing business environment would be advantageous.
