Turnbull & Co is a family-owned builders’ merchant with long-standing roots across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. We’re looking for a reliable Yard Operative to join our Sleaford trading centre and play a key role in serving our trade customers and supporting daily branch operations. This is a hands-on, practical role based at our yard, focused on getting things right for customers and working closely with the branch team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and accurately
- Checking loads against customer orders
- Preparing stock for delivery and maintaining yard organisation
- Receiving and putting away palletised deliveries
- Supporting trade customers in the yard with a helpful, approachable manner
- Working as part of the wider branch team to keep operations running smoothly
What we’re looking for:
- You don’t need previous builders’ merchant experience — we’re happy to train the right person.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work
- Being reliable, practical, and safety-conscious
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable dealing with customers in a polite, professional way
- Forklift experience is desirable, but not essential (training available)
