Position Purpose

The Handyperson is responsible to the Assistant Manager for the delivery of 1st fix maintenance as requested through the CAFM system (ALICE) and Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules, and the undertaking of designated Health and Safety duties across the 5 Star Golf and Hotel Resort whilst working a flexible shift pattern.

In addition, the incumbent is expected to have the knowledge and where necessary assist in all other general FM tasks, as directed by the Assistant Managers & Director of Engineering & Security.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritise work schedules in accordance with guest needs
  • React to requests to assess and repair, where possible, faults with all aspects of maintenance work at the Resort effectively and efficiently.

Including but not limited to; HVAC, lighting, small power issues, plumbing problems, and standby generator maintenance.

  • Undertake and record regular Planned Preventative Maintenance/ Ken Fix It Programme including monthly emergency lighting testing, tap/shower head descaling, lighting checks, temperature checks of water systems as specified in the site Water Risk Assessment, fire alarm testing, fire equipment checks, meter readings, running the generator, etc.
  • Required to maintain effective communication with the team, provide accurate record‑keeping and complete all relevant documentation including, inspection results, surveys, material requisition, Planet work orders

Knowledge of safe systems of work, COSHH, and risk assessments.

  • When required, assist with the conditions team to ensure the standard of the asset is maintained.

Duties may include carpet cleaning, window cleaning and any other duties and tasks assigned by the Management Team in accordance with the business needs

  • Qualification Standards
  • Must be eligible to work within the UK with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a good level and understanding of Health & Safety with previous recent experience within a maintenance environment being essential.
  • Having an understanding and awareness of HVAC systems and BMS experience would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have the ability to fault find and awareness to carry out alterations to improve the Hotel resort environment

  • A good all‑around knowledge of electrical distribution systems is desired.
  • Must be able to work a flexible working pattern, 5 days over 7.
  • Must be self‑motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of the team and able to demonstrate good time management skills
  • Driving license essential
