Kitchen Steward

Job Scope
To ensure the efficient running of the wash-up, pot-wash, and back of house area to ensure the hygiene of the kitchen and stewarding areas.
Also assisting in staff canteens or stillroom serving tea, toast, coffee if required to assist the Back of House Manager and Head Chef in any reasonable duties.
- Job Functions (include the following, however, this list is not exhaustive)
- Ensure an exceptional, indigenous experience for all guests.
- Clean crockery, silverware and copperware to the required standard.
- Use cleaning chemicals, materials and implements in accordance with instructions provided.
- Maintain the optimum levels of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen area.
- Maintain the required standards of cleanliness in the back of house areas, including corridors, skip, and bin areas.
- To carry out any other duties as required by the Heart of House Manager and Head Chef.
- Ensure full liaison with other members of the Stewarding team.
- Position Requirements
- Strong communication skills for dealing with associates within the department.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other departments in the Hotel, especially Kitchen and Restaurant.
- Must be able to communicate fully in the local language
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Walking and standing are required during the working day.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfil cleaning tasks occasionally.
