To assist the Head Chef in the preparation and service of food, ensuring that the highest quality, hygiene and service standards are met and maintained at all times in line with our guests' expectations. High-quality informal brasserie-style dining at the clubhouse forms an essential part of the golf experience. Quality grab-and-go options before and during play, along with fast, hearty, quality breakfast menus are integral to the clubhouse offering. More refined dining at MacLeod House including breakfasts, lunch, dinner and special menus for exclusive use require the development, preparation and delivery. The role operates on a shift-based system including evening and weekend working in line with the seasonal needs of the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with preparation of hot and cold food for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner service.
  • Ensuring a consistently high level of food service at all times through knowledge of menu items and awareness of commodities used, preparation methods and cooking.
  • Assisting as necessary with stock control and identifying methods for improving food service.
  • Ensuring kitchen areas and equipment are cleaned and relevant health and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements for the role:

  • Experience of working in a similar role and the ability to produce quality food to the highest standard.
  • Current certificate in Basic Food Preparation, Health and Hygiene or similar would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Driven with a passion for food and quality produce.
  • Creative with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and maintain a consistently high standard of food delivery under pressure.
  • Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend and evening work will be required).
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
