Earn while you learn as an apprentice chef at Trump Turnberry. The apprenticeship is a 12-18 month program with assessments being carried out by City of Glasgow College, gaining you a SCQF Level 5 in Professional Cookery. In addition, you will have access to masterclasses and learning journeys. The Apprentice Chef is a key role within the kitchen environment. Following the guidance of our senior chefs, you are expected to follow instructions in order to produce a high-quality of food preparation and cooking. Your work should be carried out in a safe manner and to the best of your abilities. The position is available to start straight away, with the induction at the college planned for the end of June 2025.
Essential Functions
- To work as part of the kitchen team, communicating well with others to ensure a smooth service of food, providing support to others where you can and asking for help if it is required to meet our service standards.
- To be aware of all the menu items in their allocated section of the kitchen, to have copies of all relevant menus, recipes and dish photographs as required.
- To understand what the kitchen hygiene standards are and to ensure that your working area and fridges meet that requirement.
- To respect the food produce at all times, making sure that it is stored, prepared and cooked as instructed, reporting any potential food wastage to the Senior chef.
- To clean as you go within the kitchen, keep all work areas tidy and organised, and ensure that the close-down cleaning procedure is followed.
- Complete all work as required for the qualification and complete assessments as required.

- Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
- Must be aged 17-24 years of age.
- Have a passion for food and cooking.
- A proactive, self-starter who is able to work within a team as well as individually.
- Must be able to work shifts, weekends, holidays and adhere to our immaculate grooming policy and strict uniform standards.
