Position Overview

North West Birmingham – West Bromwich, Oldbury

£22,000 – £26,000

Turn IT on is looking for a Junior ICT Consultant who has a real flair for technology mixed with a passion for providing exemplary service to our customers. Join our team supporting in and around Oldbury.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for maintaining all IT hardware and services across the schools’ sites and for helping the schools improve the standard of their ICT provisions, enabling them to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.
  • Resolve and manage any technical issues that impact the running of the school’s function by providing robust technical solutions.
  • Installation or repair of computers with standardised applications and networking software, diagnosing, and solving problems that develop in their operations.
  • Respond to a wide range of technical duties associated with the computer network and desktop services, primarily in connection with existing installations and upgrading of these installations (Desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns and hardware).
  • Facilitate communication between schools and Turn IT on, keeping them up to date with services and managing customer accounts.
  • Maintain school computer equipment, install new and existing software across the network, provide technical support for users and resolve identified technical problems.
  • Provide technical support for Microsoft Office365 and common user applications.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience as an ICT Technician or 2nd line support, preferably in the education sector (though not essential).
  • Self‑motivated, strong technical background, excellent customer service orientation, team player with strong communication and organisation skills, able to explain technical issues in layman’s terms, able to work independently, and proactive in identifying ways to improve services.
