Travel between school sites may be required. Turn IT On is currently seeking an enthusiastic IT Manager with a passion for technology and experience working within an education environment. As the IT Manager, you will oversee the management, installation, maintenance, availability and security of the school’s curriculum and administrative ICT network, including hardware and software infrastructure. You will collaborate with senior management to develop IT infrastructure and plan projects, ensuring the network is optimised for teaching and learning while remaining secure and stable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the school’s network infrastructure and ICT-based applications.
  • Monitor and maintain all key systems including switches, virtual and physical server environments, Microsoft 365 and backups.
  • Provide technical advice, training and support to staff.
  • Day-to-day management of IT operations, ensuring efficient handling of all requests.
  • Line manage and oversee the work of the ICT support staff.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support.
  • Provide a weekly service update email and a monthly service review report, reporting on any SLA failures.
  • Enforce and monitor in line with school policies.
  • Train internal staff.

Ideal Candidate

  • At least 2–3 years of experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager or Senior ICT Consultant in a school setting.
  • Strong passion for IT and a deep understanding of the requirements of a school environment.
  • Experience in upgrading a school IT network system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with exceptional customer-service focus.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and service improvement.

The role is offered on a full-year, full-time basis and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Salary: £33,000 – £41,000 (negotiable)
