Consultant, Heritage and Townscape

The position is based in our London office and would work on a wide variety of projects across the UK, for both prestigious private and public sector clients.

In this role you will:

• Undertake comprehensive research and analysis, including site visits, desk-based and archival research.
• Assess the significance of a wide range of heritage assets.
• Contribute to heritage advice and impact assessment in a planning context.
• Support and work towards leading on a range of projects and proactively assist with the delivery on more major projects.
• Contribute to providing clear, succinct and commercial advice to our clients.
• Effectively manage your workload with defined responsibility.
• Develop your technical skills and grow your own presence in our local markets.
• Be part of a dynamic, supportive and well established team.
• Have opportunity to work closely on our townscape and visual impact projects.
• Share skills and experience across disciplines.

About you

You will have a strong academic record (with degree or post graduate qualification in a planning, heritage conservation or other heritage-related subject as a minimum), an enquiring mind, strong communication skills and commercial awareness. You will have sound knowledge of architectural history, experience of promoting or managing change in the historic environment, and a developing understanding of the English planning system. You will have strong IT skills with a knowledge and experience of using GIS/QGIS desirable. You will be able to proactively manage your own workload and deliver exceptional client service within a fast-paced consultancy environment.
