We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Tractor Driver to join our dynamic team.

As a Delivery Driver at Turf World Limited, you will be responsible for delivering turf, landscaping products, and other ground maintenance supplies to customers across the local region and other parts of the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring that products are delivered accurately, safely, and on time while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. You will also be responsible for managing delivery schedules, vehicle maintenance, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery Operations:
  • Efficient Delivery: Transport turf, landscaping products, and related supplies from our farm to customers’ homes, businesses, or project sites in a safe and timely manner.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries, ensuring that all products are delivered in perfect condition and that the customer experience is smooth and professional.
  • Loading & Unloading: Load and unload deliveries, ensuring proper handling of products to avoid damage. Help with unloading and setting up products on-site where required.
  • Route Planning: Follow the most efficient delivery routes to minimise travel time and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Paperwork & Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary delivery paperwork, including delivery notes, invoices, uploading information onto a tablet and proof of delivery (POD) forms.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that the delivery vehicle is kept clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary equipment for deliveries. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Transport Manager promptly.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Safety Standards: Comply with all health and safety regulations while on the road and when handling products.
    • Vehicle Checks: Conduct regular pre-journey checks on the delivery vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and safe for use.
    • Product Handling: Ensure products are handled correctly to avoid damage and injury during loading and unloading.

    Key Requirements:

    • Valid UK driving license (Category C but CE would be preferred or equivalent preferred).
    • Previous delivery experience is desirable, particularly in the landscaping or construction industry.
    • Knowledge of local areas.
    • Ability to use a Moffett to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25kg), as this is a physically demanding role.
    • Good communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues in a professional and friendly manner.
    • Reliability and punctuality are essential to ensure timely deliveries.
    • Customer-focused with a strong emphasis on delivering a positive experience to clients.
    • A good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the work (loading and unloading turf and landscaping materials).
    • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform routine checks.
    • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends if required.
    • A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
