Collins Wharf Sod is looking to add a highly motivated individual to join our sod production team. This is a great opportunity for someone that is detail oriented with the ability to handle challenges day to day. The candidate must have strong interpersonal communication skills, be a positive team player with the ability to multi-task, learn and adapt depending on day to day needs of the business.
Overview of Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to (day to day):
- Manage both warm and cool season grass varieties - maintenance and operations
- Concentration on Bent grass, as well as Zoysia, Bermuda, Bluegrass, Fine Fescue, and Turf Type Tall Fescue
- Proactively inspect and diagnose potential turf issues
- Oversee and help execute our irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticide systems and procedures
- Operational knowledge of sod harvesters, forklifts, mowers, tractors and all equipment that are essential to day to day farm needs
- Farm equipment oversight - maintenance and repair to ensure operations are ongoing
- Perform general labour as needed around the farm
