POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Randall\’s Island Park Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization and works with the City to maintain, sustain and program Randall\’s Island Park, including 60+ athletic fields. The Fleet and Equipment Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment across all departments. This role will ensure that machinery operates safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall upkeep and functionality of the organization’s fleet operation. The Fleet and Equipment Specialist will work collaboratively with another Specialist on-site to ensure work is completed in an efficient manner and will communicate with department Directors and Managers regarding fleet and equipment updates. This role will report to the Chief of Operations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
•Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on park vehicles, equipment and machinery organization-wide
•Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner
•Troubleshoot equipment and fleet malfunctions
•Flag repairs and issues with the fleet and equipment that may need to be outsourced
•Communicate updates regarding equipment and vehicles to management, both verbally and systematically
•Keep management up to date regarding orders that have been placed and the status of equipment/vehicle requests
•Maintain records of maintenance and repair work performed
•Utilize the Maintain X work order system to keep tasks organized and management up to date
•Ensure equipment and fleet are well maintained and comply with safety standards
•Collaborate with Chief of Operations to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks
•Perform other general tasks and assist with other projects at the Park, as assigned by the Chief of Operations.

•Ability to shift priorities and focus, when needed
•Ability to perform physical labor; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•Willing to work outdoors, in all types of weather, under strenuous conditions.
•Motivated and punctual, able to work both independently and as part of a team
•Flexibility to work overtime and weekends
