We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team and help us to provide the highest quality repair and maintenance service to a select range of company and third‑party products in an efficient and professional manner. This role is remote and will cover parts of Kent/Surrey.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Provide the highest quality repair and maintenance service to the full range of company and third‑party products, continually meeting or exceeding given performance targets as directed by the Service Manager.
The Ideal candidate
- Proven experience as a Field Engineer, using electrical and electronic experience to help maintain/test a variety of products such as Emergency Lights, Fire Systems and other electrical/electronic products.
- Any experience of working within a field‑based role would be desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain existing equipment and systems across the full range of products.
- Exceed performance targets set by the Service Manager in productivity, quality of workmanship, first fix rate, stock control and attendance at work.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all the company’s core products in their repair and functionality.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and first line repairs to key products and systems to avert potentially disruptive issues.
- Provide technical assistance and training to other team members and customers as directed by the Company.
- Identify issues that lessen customer satisfaction and actively participate in their resolution and future prevention, adhering to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Work outside geographical boundaries, demonstrating co‑operation and flexibility in meeting customer demands.
- Assist with installation related activities such as site visits, commissioning, surveying etc.
- Be a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member positively promoting the Company as a world class service provider.
- Be part of a standby rota to support all company products.
Key skills and experience:
- An Electrical/Electronic qualification at NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
- Full Category B UK driving license (for manual vehicles).
- Experience of testing Fire Systems.
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Able to demonstrate effective team working.
- Effective time management & planning skills.
- Comfortable working at heights and/or in confined dusty spaces.
- Experience of working with the elderly or vulnerable.
