Tunnel Engineering is seeking an experienced highways construction professional to support a major UK infrastructure project.
The successful candidate will lead the technical review of the construction programme, assess proposed methodologies and sequencing, and coordinate the construction input required by the P6 planning team.
This is a construction-led role. You will not be required to operate P6, although experience working alongside programme planners would be beneficial.
Key responsibilities
- Review the programme from a construction and constructability perspective.
- Assess construction methodologies, sequencing, durations and dependencies.
- Identify constraints, interfaces, risks and opportunities for programme improvement.
- Coordinate and lead a small technical team contributing to the programme review.
- Develop clear construction assumptions and sequencing information for incorporation into the P6 programme.
- Work collaboratively with planners, designers and other project stakeholders.
- Challenge proposed approaches and recommend practical alternatives where appropriate.
Required experience
- Extensive construction experience on major highways or comparable civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of highways construction sequencing, including earthworks, drainage, structures, utilities, pavement works and associated interfaces.
- Previous experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Senior Agent, Sub-Agent or in a similar construction-focused position.
- Ability to review complex programmes without personally operating P6.
- Strong leadership, coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide practical, evidence-based construction advice.
