A growing, high-tech manufacturing organisation is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and scale its UK operational functions. The organisation is transitioning from low-volume, manual production to high-volume, automated manufacturing.

This leadership role will oversee core operational support functions to ensure they align with the company’s growth goals, enabling successful delivery across engineering, production, quality, and commercial areas.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and scale UK operational functions across engineering, production, quality, and commercial areas.
  • Oversee operations across multiple sites in a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.
  • Ensure operational support functions align with growth objectives to enable successful delivery.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience within multi-site, high-tech, or manufacturing environments.
  • Track record of scaling operational functions in businesses of £50M+ size.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, facilities, procurement, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with safety regulations, quality control, and infrastructure management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional and international team environments.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to UK and international sites.
