We wish to appoint an enthusiastic A Level teacher of Psychology and Sociology to lead a small, but hugely popular and ambitious department. This is a full time one year post to cover maternity leave. Purpose of the Job The Head of Department is responsible for all teaching and support colleagues in the Psychology and Sociology Department. They are responsible for raising student attainment and achievement within Psychology and Sociology. They will take lead responsibility for providing leadership and management within their subject area, in order to secure:
- High quality teaching
- Effective use of resources
- Improved standards of learning and achievement for all
They will also contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to the area child protection procedures.
