The D.E.Shaw group seeks motivated, intellectually curious students to join the firm's Investor Relations (IR) team as interns. This team plays a pivotal role in supporting current and prospective investors by providing insight into the operational workings of the firm and its funds. IR interns collaborate with a global team of investor relations professionals to learn about the firm's investment strategies, products, and clients in a collegial work environment. This is a ten‐week program that is expected to run from June to August 2027.

WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY‐TO‐DAY:

  • Take on projects that require rigorous analytical thinking and creative problem‐solving.
  • Help enhance various communication efforts, conduct prospect‐ and investor‐focused research, participate in brainstorming sessions with colleagues, or attend meetings with investors.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • An impressive record of academic achievement with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and keen analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a structured approach to solving problems and driving projects forward, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • A client‐focused approach, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Curiosity to learn more about corporate strategy, capital markets, or the economy.
  • Experience with consulting, venture capital, economic research, or product management/strategy through clubs or internships is a plus but not required.
  • Current enrollment in a bachelor's or graduate degree program in any field of study; no previous finance experience is necessary. Students who apply to this internship are usually approaching their final year of full‐time study.
